Sheridan Public Library opened in 1972 at 3201 West Oxford Avenue, Sheridan, CO. The library was located inside Sheridan High School.

Deer Trail Library moved into Deer Trail High School in 1978. Prior to this patrons were served using a bookmobile since 1966.

In 1975 the Greenwood Library opened in Greenwood Plaza serving the business personnel in that office complex and many residents in the surrounding community. This library was closed in November, 1978.

Walnut Hills Library located in the Arapahoe Bank and Trust building at 7777 E. Arapahoe Rd. (1974-1980). The new Castlewood Library replaced Walnut Hills Library in name and location in 1982.

John V. Christensen Library at Western Federal Savings building. Southglenn Library was renamed the John V. Christensen Library from 1973-1978. The name was then changed back to Southglenn Library.
